History of Hip Hop series (1979 – 2009)

Ok, yesterday I came across the most insane collection of hip hop.

Legendary The Rub has finished their “History of Hip Hop” series (1979-2009). Each year has it’s own mix with classics and forgotten tracks. And there are playlists for each mix. Incredible!!!

PARRA

I stumbled upon this nice little feature on Parra x Patta x LeLe x Converse.

I’ve been a huge Parra fan for years, so when finding these rare little glimpse into the everyday life of this artisté extraordinaire, it’s something  I must share with you, dear readers.

And as a little extra bonus, this little teaser for their upcoming project also just came up.

ENJOY!

Next level of music packaging

This is really dope! The new Matthew Dear album Black City is dropping in two weeks time, which in itself is brilliant news!

But this time, Matthew and his label Ghostly chose to do a little extra with the ‘packaging’. Instead of just doing the usual jewel case routine, they also chose the alternative, doing a limited edition Totem, cast in bonded aluminum. On the totem, a special code is inscriped which allows the owner to download and stream the album.

Here is a little beautiful video of the totem being born.

Sneaker Banquet

A nice little flashback to the lovely Sneaker Banquet at the classy D’angleterre from last year, featuring the legendary Bobbito Garcia.

Apparently the Sneaker Banquet will be back in November. More on that later.

Pen story

Truly amazing piece of stopmotion action!

They used 60.000 photos for this piece. Developed 9.600 prints and shot over 1.800 pictures again. And no post production!
