Cocktail 1949
Here is the newest addition to my collection of mens magazines (pre 1960) A complete catalog of “Cocktail” volume 1949… There’s a bit of foxing on the outside but otherwise it is in pristine condition. Since it’s from before picture porn was released (1968-69) all you see in these magazines is quite innocent and, more importantly, catagorized as art;)

Miniature murder mysteries
My birthday is a few days and this book is on my list, hint, hint;)
It combines two of my favorite childhood (and, ahem, adulthood…) interests: murder mysteries and miniatures
In the 1940′s Frances Glessner Lee constructed a series of crime scene dioramas, which she called “The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death”.
To create her miniature crime scenes, she often blended the details of several true stories, embellishing facts here and changing the details there. She researched her crimes using newspaper reports and interviews with policemen and morgue workers.
