R.I.P Jane Russell
When I was a kid I named all my brunette dolls after this lady…
Howard Hughes discovered her and made sure to make the best of her talent(s). He even designed a underwire molded push up bra for her role in “The Outlaw” -she never wore it though, no need;)

The great escape part 2
The third stop on our tour was the great city of dreams LA. No more vacation time, this part of the trip was strictly work. Camilla Jane Lea and William Frederiksen my partners in crime had also flown to LA to meet up with me. Together with them I do the annual CPH PRO, which is a professional skateboard competition that we host in Copenhagen. This year is our 5th year and the competition have grown to be the biggest skate comp in Europe. We have gone to California every year prior to the contest to promote, mingle and hype the contest and every year we have come home with our bag full of new contact, tricks and ideas how to make the cph pro the best contest possible. This year our mission was to interview high profile skaters about what it means to skate contest, why and why not contest are important and what it takes to host the greatest show on earth.
On the first day in La, I wanted to do some b-rolls for the interviews and we went around downtown LA and did a couple of timelapse. We ended up on this Bridge, which has been in ton of Hollywood movies. I wanted to test out my new toy the Philip Bloom signature kessler pocket dolly and the Oracle controller and motor. I wanted to make the camera go from one side of the sign and then past the sign, so you could see LA downtown in the background. It’s always hard doing timelapse of sunsets with the dolly. Because you need to take your chance on that the camera goes the full length of the dolly before it gets to dark, it takes a lot of practice and I need to put in some serious hours before I can say that I got it dialed down to perfection. The camera only made it a little over half way before I felt that it was to dark and with my two assistances, best boy William and the security manager Camilla waiting on my timelapse to finished, there was only a take one on this one. If I had been there alone I would had gone for a take two…

First skater we hooked up with is our good friend Rune Glifberg, the king of skateboarding in Denmark. Rune is born just out side Copenhagen, but has lived as a professional skateboarder in Cali since 1994. When Rune does´t skate he likes to spend as much time as he can on his hobby, which is BMW´S and racing. He wanted us to go with him to racetrack to see and feel what it is all about. We though this sounded like a lot of fun and that it would be a great location for the interview. The race track, the surroundings and the wibe at the place was absolutely out of this world. I have never been to place like that and being in the car on the track was a joy ride I will never forget.
Again my new toy the Philip Bloom signature kessler pocket dolly and the Oracle controller and motor. came in to great effect, i used it to do silky smooth dolly moves…

Next dude we did an interview with, was no other than Arto Saari. Arto is from Finland. He is now 29 and has lived in the states since he was 17. He is one of the greatest skaters that have rocked this planet. Arto has had some mind blowing video parts, which has made him into a legend and a big impact on skateboarding. We have been trying to get Arto to come to CPH PRO for the last couple of years and with a little luck and a promise to build him a sauna he might show up this year, but you never know. Arto recently got a little daughter and bought a house in Hollywood. With this in mind he knew that he would be spending more time at home with the family, so he made it simple for himself and build a backyard pool at his house. I had a hard time believing my own eyes. The house was this old French alp looking house with a backyard with pool, avocado and grapefruit trees and a proper sauna to chill out in after a little skate session and if that is not enough then out of nowhere Christian Hosoi rock’s up for a little skate session. Christian Hosoi is in my mind one of the biggest legends in the history of skateboarding.

Last day in LA we hooked up with Braydon Szafranski. Braydon is from Las Vegas, but lives in LA as professional skateboard. This guy is hilarious, he really makes me laugh. He is full of energy and just out of this world with his stories. He looks, talks and party more like a rock star, than a skater. He is the type of skater that you would think hates on contest. But he actually have too much positive blood in him to hate on anything, I really hope that this cat makes it out to Copenhagen this summer, cause I know that he would feel at home here….

Look Ma, top of the world!
I’m still here… Just getting over a massive cold, jetlag and freeze chok…
Just writing to inform that Cinemateket is having a James Cagney feature all of October and you MUST go see at least one of his movies there!!! I’ve seen them all before but I would love to see them on the big screen.. I’ll go for “The Public Enemy” and “The Strawberry Blonde”. (might squeeze in White Heat as well..)
-and if you should be in the mood for some sweetness on top of all that go see a Marilyn Monroe movie there too.. Again I’ve seen them all and I absolutely love “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” -it’s one of my favorite musicals but I have seen it so many times so I’m going for “Some Like It Hot” after all it has Tony Curtis in it….
Thank you Cinemateket, for making the transfer into Fall just a little bit easier for me….

Lakai or Die
I don´t normally post stuff that i did´t make myself, but this one i just had to post about. Ty Evans from girl skateboards, made this short film for the Transworld skateboarding skate and create contest. I don´t know what their secret is, but they have been coming out with mind blasting video´s for the last 10-15 years. They are always pushing the limits with their creative idea´s and with what kind of camera equipment they are using. There is only a handful of skateboard filmmakers that are trying to push these limit´s… Ty Evans being one of them.
kick back and enjoy this amazing video…

Summer recap
Summer is over soon and i have´t had the time to really enjoy it, BBQ, swimming and drinking Pina colada in the shade. it´s been work work and work. But at least it has been some fun projects. here is a little recap of what i have done since july…
————————————————————————————————————————
First week of july was insane. 3 1/2 day´s to edit, a 25 min program for DR2. i had to sharpen the knife and make some rough cut´s through the conners to make this edit on a extreme sort deadline. This is what came out of following the Den Sorte Skole for 2 month prior to their gig at this year Roskilde festival. Sorry it´s all on danish. but we are working on doing a 50 min directors cut version with subtitles. It was all filmed on canon HD-DSLRs. I wanted to test my 5D mark ll as a documentary camera. thanks to the all mighty software Pluraleyes for syncing audio, which was all recorded separately on the zoom h4…

————————————————————————————————————————
Next project in cooperation with Plant, was to showcase Saxobank as an elite Microsorft customer… This time i did not have time to do the edit. I did all the filming on my Canon 5 mark ll and the 550 d.
————————————————————————————————————————
I did spend a little time in the sun on a directs flight to Lebanon…
————————————————————————————————————————
Then fashion week came to town. Adidas called me, cause they heard that i was the only guy in town to pull off, a quick hit and run mission. The assignment was to build 4 skate obstacles and place around town. i had 10 day´s to get the job done. so once again i swapped the camera for a power tool and build some blue skateboard ramps.
The best part of this job was i met old friends and made some new friends. They have a design studio in SF and one of their customers happen to be Adidas…
————————————————————————————————————————
Then Finally i edit a music video that i filmed in june. It´s for a Danish artist named Nikolaj Grandjean, apparently he is not very big here in DK, but the song got picked up by a Brazilian tv show. So Nikolaj´s first tour will be in Brazil and not Denmark, funny how the world goes around.
————————————————————————————————————————
Finally i found this timelapse, when i was editing Nikolaj´s music video. It´s from my last trip to Puerto Rico, can´t wait to go back, i simply love this place. World class surfing, good people and supreme weather…
————————————————————————————————————————
I also just found this one raw 8 mm file from the first time i went to Puerto Rico. gotta love them girls surfing…
